Increasing awareness of the risks associated
with uncontrolled exposure to sunlight and artificial sources for tanning
has lead to ever widening governmental regulation and the associated need
for monitoring and measurement of the UV lamp sources.
French Regulations were brought into force
in 1998 and Solatell developed an instrument uniquely suitable for the
measurement and characterisation of tanning lamps. European norms have now
been established for the control of tanning beds and are increasingly
adopted by European member states.
A range of instruments are available from
Solatell for use by lamp manufacturers, sun bed manufacturers, regulatory
inspectors and Solarium Operators which provide detailed analysis of UV
spectrum at 1nm resolution and convolute with the erythemal action spectra
to provide data of the effective irradiance
